Iranian animation ‘Release from Heaven’ nominated for the animation section of Cannes Film Festival.
Directed by Ali Nouri Oskui, the Iranian animation won the nomination along with two other animations ‘Junod’ by Shinichiro Kimura and ‘Iqbal’ by Michel Fuzellier and Babak Payami.
Set in a war torn country, the animation narrates the story of a female writer and teacher, Sareh who has to accompany two of her students on a life changing journey to find their fathers.
‘Release from Heaven’ is a mixture of fantasy and reality in which the teacher tries to tell stories for her students to encourage them, but she finds out that the heroes of her stories are real.
The 70th edition of Cannes Film Festival will be organized on May 17-28, 2017 in the French city of Cannes.
